Light pours across the sculpted walls, revealing curves that seem like ocean water waves moving violently.

At first sight it doesn’t look like this could be stone. However, it is, by years of passing water through in the rainy season it has formed a deep sandstone slot where you can walk in.

For the best timing and light options, check on google maps the direction of the stone slot you like to walk in. Then roughly by the time of day and sun location decide when to be there. The best light is when the sun is shining in the cave.

To see this for yourself  there are commercialized areas, like the Antilope Canyon. Here you walk with large groups of people together without standing still for too long because the next group is already coming by. There are also some areas that are self hiking paths like the Red Canyon Slot Aka Peek a Boo Trailhead or the Red Canyon Slot (Peekaboo Kanab) where you can walk on your own pace. Make sure you check before arrival on the local rules and regulations if you need a permit.
